About the product
Today we remember the great among the martyrs, St. George, who was martyred on this day in 307 A.D. Born in Cappadocia to parents Anastasius and Theobaste, St. George was a nobleman who joined the Roman army at the age of 17. After his fatherโs death, he went to Emperor Diocletian to take over his fatherโs position but found that the Emperor had apostatized the faith and ordered the worship of idols. St. George gave all his wealth to the poor and needy and set free his slaves. When he saw the edict of the Emperor against the Christians, he became raged and tore it. He was taken before the Emperor and refused all vain propositions to deny his Christ. The Emperor tortured him severely, but the Lord strengthened him and healed all his wounds. St. George was martyred by the sword on May 1st (23rd of Baramouda)
